Any AI · Your Context folder
Which AI
should I use?
The short answer
Pick one of the big five. Any one. Stay for a month.
The magic isn’t the platform. It’s your Context folder, and it works with all of them. That’s why the course is platform agnostic.
The best AI changes about as often as your nail color. Set up your Context folder once, and you can switch whenever a better one shows up. Your work comes with you.
The big five
All five work with your Context folder. Pick the one that fits your life.
| The AI | Made by | Why you’d pick it |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT / dots | OpenAI | The most popular. Memory built in. The easiest to find help for. |
| Claude | Anthropic | The best long-form writer. Projects keep your Context folder attached. |
| Gemini | If you work on Google, you already have access. | |
| Grok / Grok Bot | SpaceXSI (formerly xAI) | Great for building and training an army of agents that work on your behalf, if you need this. |
| Muse | Facebook (Meta) | Great if you create content on Facebook at all. For the most part, free. |
Strengths and weaknesses
The big five, up close
ChatGPT / dots
OpenAI
- Strengths
- Offers everything: Chat, Work (documents, spreadsheets and presentations), Codex, voice, incredible images, and dots, its always-on agents. A great all-in-one if you’re new. It will always be close behind the front of the market.
- Weaknesses
- Dots are only on the top Pro and Business Premium plans. The free plan has limited memory.
- Pick it if
- You’re new and want one AI that does everything.
Claude
Anthropic
- Strengths
- Its own ecosystem: chat, Projects, Cowork (an agent that keeps working in the cloud when your laptop is closed) and Claude Code. Use it for everything if you want an all-in-one. The best long-form writer.
- Weaknesses
- It doesn’t make photos or illustrations, only diagrams and charts.
- Pick it if
- You want an all-in-one and you write a lot.
Gemini
- Strengths
- If you work on Google, you already have access. It works inside Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Calendar. Gemini Spark, its 24/7 agent, keeps working even when your phone and laptop are off.
- Weaknesses
- Spark is only on paid Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, in select countries.
- Pick it if
- Your business already runs on Google.
Grok / Grok Bot
SpaceXSI (formerly xAI)
- Strengths
- Build an army of Bots, each with its own name, job and memory. They work in parallel 24/7 on a cloud computer, message each other, learn a workflow by watching you do it once, and get better at their niche over time.
- Weaknesses
- All your Bots share one computer, including its files and logins, so be careful what you put on it. Grok Bot starts at the $30/month Premium plan.
- Pick it if
- You’re trying to build employees.
Muse
Facebook (Meta)
- Strengths
- Connects to Facebook, Instagram and Threads automatically, plus apps like Gmail. For all of your marketing, Muse will definitely stand out. Free to start.
- Weaknesses
- Brand new (September 2026) and only in the US and Canada so far.
- Pick it if
- You market on Facebook or Instagram.
Different jobs, not chatbots
Two more worth knowing
By Cognition
Devin
An AI software engineer, not an assistant. You hand it a task, it writes the code. Courtney uses Devin and loves it: she’s non-technical but likes to accomplish highly technical work. Claude Code and Cursor are capable of doing what Devin does, but their agent harnesses aren’t trained as a CTO, so in her experience the work just isn’t as good. A Grok Bot CTO bot that uses Cursor would be the equivalent of a Devin.
AI visuals
Higgsfield
A creative suite that gives you access to a number of image and video AIs, including Seedance and Kling, plus its own models. The largest platform of its kind right now. ChatGPT and Muse will probably catch up soon with their new image models, but they’re not there yet.
Choose by your life, not the leaderboard
You already open ChatGPT every day
ChatGPT / dotsYou write a lot: newsletters, sales pages, long emails
ClaudeYou work on Google. You already have access
GeminiYou need an army of agents working on your behalf
Grok / Grok BotYou create content on Facebook at all
MuseStill can’t decide? Flip a coin. Seriously.
What you’re trying to accomplish
Build your AI team
What’s your job?
What are you trying to accomplish?
Pick your job or what you’re trying to accomplish. Your AI team and budget show up here.
We’re assuming the cheapest plan that does the job, not full-time work. For full-time work, you’ll need a $100/month subscription. Switch to “fully committed” to see it. Prices are each company’s US monthly price as of October 2026, before tax. Pay month to month: we suggest you don’t commit to any AI for a year. Check their site before you buy.
The rule of thumb
If it’s not one of the big five, ask why
Lovable, Base44 and most of the AI apps you see advertised are wrappers: a nice screen on top of someone else’s model. They don’t own the large language model. They rent it from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, mark up the tokens and charge you more than the real thing.
Big five first
We suggest you always work with one of the big five first. Add a specialist tool only when you hit a wall they can’t get over.
If an app can’t tell you which model it runs on, that tells you something.
What’s the same everywhere
Your Context folder
Works in all of them. Markdown files you own.
The take-home exercise
Works with all five.
Rule #1: read everything
Every AI predicts, assumes and sometimes makes things up.
What actually matters
- 1
Switching costs nothing but context.
- 2
The “best” model changes monthly. Don’t chase it.
- 3
One AI deeply used beats five barely used.
- 4
A wrapper on top of a model you already pay for is a second bill, not a second brain.
Done deciding.
Go build something.
